The demand for non-surgical body and face fixes is growing – will the number of horror stories grow too?

More regulation in UK’s plastic surgery industry needed

In the wake of the PIP implant scandal, there has been much lobbying for more regulation of the UK plastic surgery industry, something all good practitioners should support.

It amazes me that so many people put their trust in sub-qualified ‘practitioners’, for both non-invasive and surgical treatments, after all, there are many well documented ways to research surgeons/injectors qualifications and reputation.

Cost seems to be the bottom line if you study each story.  It is a fact that these procedures can be costly – and the injectable types often require a great deal of maintenance, with treatments being repeated every few months or so.  Sadly, it’s human nature to try to find the most cost effective way to do things – but this should not transfer when one’s health is at stake.
